The VTL Foundation has launched its inaugural scholarship/internship program to introduce a diverse group of students to a career in trial practice and to our Association family, and we were overwhelmed by the quality candidates who applied. We are pleased to announce that we have selected two outstanding candidates to receive the 2023 Diversity and Inclusion Foundation Scholarship as well as having our scholarship winners placed at a VTLA-member firm for a 10-week internship this summer.
A second-year student at the University of Richmond School of Law, Tundun Oladipo is the first recipient of the VTL Foundation’s Donald McEachin Memorial Scholarship. An accomplished recipient, Tundun has a most impressive resume already. She was the winner of the National Veterans Law Moot Competition (2022) in addition to being a winner of the Interscholastic Trial Advocacy Competition (2021). Tundun is also a staff member of the Journal of Law and Technology at Richmond. This summer, she will intern with the Williams Legal Group in Washington, DC.
Equally as talented, Kaitlyn Hyun has been selected as our second scholarship award winner. Kaitlyn is a second-year law student at Washington & Lee School of Law. Last summer, Kaitlyn served as a judicial intern in the Fairfax Circuit Court. She also served as the Executive Editor of the ABA Student Lawyer Magazine and was the winner of the 2022 ABA Newspaper National Award of Excellence German Law Journal. Kaitlyn will intern with Breit Biniazan in Arlington.
