Prosecutors, criminal defense attorneys, judges from all courts, and various others interested in Virginia's criminal justice system, gathered last week to discuss topics to improve the system at the Virginia Criminal Justice Conference. The issues might seem small, but their impact can certainly be big to an individual. In the 2025 General Assembly, three VCJC proposed bills were signed into law. This year, the Conference is recommending two issues.
Thank you to outgoing chairs Charlottesville Commonwealth Attorney Joe Platania and VTLA member Seth Weston. The next two conferences will be chaired by Prince Edward County Commonwealth Attorney Megan Clark and Andrea Moseley.
