In 2023, the VTL Foundation launched its inaugural scholarship program to introduce a diverse group of students to a career in trial practice and our Association family. We are pleased to announce that once again we were inspired by the quality candidates who applied. As a result, we have selected two outstanding candidates to receive the 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Foundation Scholarships – Brenda Cooke and Arianna White.
Brenda Cook, a second year student at William & Mary Law School, is the recipient of the VTL Foundation’s Donald McEachin Memorial Scholarship. Brenda comes to us with an impressive resume and glowing recommendations. Her experience includes working with the US Attorney’s Office in Washington, DC as well as working in the Office of Student Affairs at William & Mary. She has been a member of the National Trial Team, Associate Diversity Chair, Student Bar Association as well as Vice President of the Black Law Student Association. Brenda will intern this summer with Marks & Harrison in Richmond.
Equally as impressive, Arianna White has been selected as our second scholarship award winner. Arianna is also a second-year law student at William & Mary Law School. Arianna has served on the William & Mary Business Law Review. In addition, activities include the National Trial Team and served as an Executive Board Member and Financial Counsel. Also, she has participated in the Elder & Disability Law Clinic and is a member of the Black Law Student Association, Innocence Project. Arianna spent last summer in Cape Town, South Africa at the Legal Resources Center as a Summer Associate. She will intern this summer with Wallace Wason, PLLC in Alexandria.
