P. Brent Brown has been engaged in the practice of law since 1979 when he was admitted to both the Virginia State Bar and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. A Virginia native who served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1976, Mr. Brown is a graduate of Old Dominion University and the Marshall-Whythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary where he was admitted to the Order of the Coif, the highest academic honor a law student can receive.

Mr. Brown has tried numerous cases of public interest with emphasis on products liability, collision liability, and civil prosecution of drunk drivers.

Mr. Brown serves on the board of Brain Injury Services of Southwest Virginia and has served as chair of this organization as well. He also has served as chair of the Virginia Office for Protection and Advocacy, which is an independent state agency that advocates for the rights of people with disabilities. He is a member of the board and has served as president of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Salem Bar association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and American Association for Justice, and Public Justice.
