This past session of the General Assembly saw significant additions to the employment law protections and causes of action in the Commonwealth that go into effect July 1, 2020, including: • Protections from sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination in employment, a complete overhaul of the Virginia Human Rights Act; • New wage theft and misclassification protections and causes of action; • A new and expansive whistleblower protection law; • A prohibition on low-wage non-competes; • A raise in the state minimum wage; and • The recent adoption of Workplace Safety Standards for COVID-19 released by the Department of Labor and Industry that will affect all law firms.

The panel will discuss and review the new laws so that you can protect your employees, yourself and your firm. If you have staffing responsibilities in your firm, you won’t want to miss this webinar!

Recorded live on July 29.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the completion deadline for the 2020 MCLE requirement has been extended from October 31 to midnight EST December 31, 2020.
