We have cancelled the live seminar scheduled for Fairfax this Tuesday, October 30, 2012 because of the impending storm. We understand that you have signed up for these seminars both because you know that they provide valuable information and because they provide MCLE credit.

All seminar registrants were emailed the materials on Friday in accordance with what you signed up for – the morning Maximizing Damages program, the afternoon iPad program or both.

We spoke with the VSB on Friday and they gave us assurances (not certainty) that those who signed up for this seminar and fail to have the required MCLE credits by October 31 because of its cancellation, will likely have the MCLE Board waive its $100 noncompliance fee if the hours are completed and submitted as soon as possible. We feel confident that will occur and will continue to work with MCLE to that end.

Because we want to make sure you receive these great programs despite this storm disruption, we have made them available to you on demand, online, available 24 hours a day. If you were signed up for either the morning or afternoon program, you have free access to a recorded video of the program, with approved CLE credit. The half-hour ethics credit is also available to you.

You should have received an email, or perhaps two, depending on whether you have signed up for one or both of these half day programs. That email will provide you the instructions you need to see the program(s), immediately! If you view the programs prior to the October 31 deadline, you eliminate all issues concerning the MCLE deadlines. If you cannot do that, you are still likely to avoid the
noncompliance fee as set out above if you complete the program as soon as possible.

If you intended to use attendance at this program to meet your “live” hours requirement please email Susan Scoven as soon as possible. We will make every reasonable effort to ensure that you can meet the requirement.

So, now you are all set! You may view the seminars from the comfort of your home or office, at your convenience, and you will earn your CLE requirements as well.

Thank you for your patience and consideration, we are so sorry that circumstances have caused the cancellation of this very special seminar. We hope to see you at another VTLA event soon!
